Rounding out our trifecta of Subie events for 2008 is our coverage of the 5th annual Subie Invasion; a week-long experience for Subaru owners and enthusiasts alike that coincides with the annual SEMA convention in Las Vegas. Modified has previously covered Subie Extravaganza and Subiefest 2008, and with this event rounding out the year, Subaru enthusiasts certainly have no shortage of world-class events to attend!
This year Subie Invasion saw things start off at an In-N-Out burger for the annual parking lot meet and raffle, which brought nearly 200 cars and a couple well-known enthusiasts; Daijiro Inada and Toshiki Yoshioka perused the crowd, occasionally stopping to sign autographs and assist with raffling off prizes. Later that night, a smaller crowd made it over to Christian Audigier at T.I. to party it up on the Las Vegas strip, with Subie Invasion VIPs enjoying full bottle service! Saturday brought on the official car show and vendor display at Subaru of Las Vegas, where Subaru of America brought a number of its SEMA cars including Travis Pastrana's Rally Team USA car, amongst others. EDO Performance also used the event to unveil its all-new Zero/Sports bodykit for the new STI and also provided a set of coilovers for the lucky grand prize raffle winner. The following morning those enthusiasts still in town caravanned through the spectacular Valley of Fire state park for photos and some last meet and greet opportunities to wrap up the event.
